Privacy policy
Last updated: 1 July 2026
Shingyo B.V. respects your privacy and handles personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Dutch GDPR Implementation Act (UAVG). This policy explains what we collect, why, on what legal basis, how long we keep it, and what rights you have.
Who is responsible for your data (controller)
Shingyo B.V., Stationsplein 26, 6512 AB Nijmegen, The Netherlands (KVK 69479240) is the controller for the personal data processed through this website.
For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, use our contact form or email info [at] shingyo [dot] eu.
What personal data we collect
We only collect what we need:
- Contact form / call-me-back: the data you provide yourself — typically your name, company, email address and/or phone number, and the content of your message or request.
- Server and security logs: technical data automatically generated when you visit the site, such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps, used to keep the site secure and available.
- Usage statistics: aggregated, anonymised traffic data (see the Cookie policy). This does not identify you and does not use cookies.
We do not knowingly collect special categories of personal data, and this site is not directed at children.
Why we process it and on what legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6) |
|---|---|
| Responding to your enquiry and taking pre-contractual steps at your request | Art. 6(1)(b) — steps prior to entering into a contract, and/or Art. 6(1)(f) — our legitimate interest in handling enquiries |
| Keeping the website secure, stable and functional | Art. 6(1)(f) — legitimate interest |
| Complying with legal obligations (e.g. tax, administration) | Art. 6(1)(c) — legal obligation |
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell your data.
How long we keep it
- Enquiry and contact data: for as long as needed to handle your request and our relationship, and up to 24 months afterwards, unless a longer statutory retention period applies.
- Data that forms part of our financial/administrative records: 7 years, as required by Dutch tax law.
- Server/security logs: a limited period set by our hosting provider.
Who we share it with (processors)
We use a small number of carefully selected service providers who process data on our behalf under a data processing agreement:
- Vercel Inc. — website hosting and infrastructure. Vercel may process data on servers outside the EEA (United States); this transfer is covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
- Lettermint — EU-hosted transactional email service that delivers messages sent through the site.
- Our email provider — used to receive and respond to your messages.
We only share data with third parties where necessary for the purposes above or where legally required.
International transfers
Where personal data is processed outside the European Economic Area (for example by our hosting provider), we ensure an appropriate safeguard is in place, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy mechanism like the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How we protect your data
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and working only with providers that meet recognised security and GDPR standards.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased (“right to be forgotten”);
- restrict or object to processing;
- data portability;
- withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these, contact us via the contact form or info [at] shingyo [dot] eu. We respond within the statutory period (one month).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens), www.autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
